Workshop 16: Exploring how Emoji Science can help bridge generational communication gaps

📅 Workshop 16: Exploring how Emoji Science can help bridge generational communication gaps | 🕚 Friday 15 May 2026, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm |📍 St Michael's Church Hall, Aughton

On 15 May 2026, we held our 16th Ageing Better with an Active Mind workshop, exploring "emoji science". Professor Linda Kaye and her Emoji team Rebecca Fuller Sneha Thomas shared the latest research on emojis and communication. They discussed how emojis help convey emotions, how we use our sensory systems to interpret them, and how they shape communication in everyday life. The team also showcased their emoji deck cards!

Overall, this was a lively discussion on how these digital symbols have become an important part of modern communication - helping people across generations understand and connect with each other.
